Kolkata, August 06th, 2025, In an endeavour to provide comfort of daily passengers during the scorching & unbearable summer season with a safe & comfortable journey option in EMU local at an affordable price and to meet growing demand of suburban passengers, Sealdah Division is all set to run an AC EMU local in between Sealdah and Ranaghat soon. This is the first AC EMU service to be introduced in the Eastern part of India. The salient technical features of these AC EMU rakes are as follows :- 1. The elegant looking ICF make rake operates on 25 KV AC traction with maximum speed upto 110 KMPH.  2. All the 12 coach car will be Air Conditioned. Kolkata, August 07th, 2025.Sealdah Division is all set to unfold a very special gift for the esteemed commuters of Kolkata and Suburban Main Section. The AC EMU service in between Sealdah and Ranaghat is expected to become an integral part of Suburban transportation system, making train journey safe, comfortable and hassle free. The City of Joy is elated to have this magnificent gift from the Sealdah Division. The much awaited *Air Conditioned EMU train will leave Ranaghat in the morning pick hour at 8:29 hrs. to reach Sealdah at 10:10 hrs. The UP AC local will leave Sealdah at 18:50 hrs to reach Ranagahat at 20:32 hrs to cater to the evening rush. The train will stop at Chakdah, Kalyani, Kanchrapara, Naihati, Barrackpore, Khardah, Sodepur, Dumdum and Bidhannagar enroute*. Kolkata, 06.08.2025, In a significant step towards improving passenger amenities, Sealdah Division near completion of platform raising work across all stations of Division. This extensive project, covered Sealdah South, Main, and North sections, was undertaken to ensure seamless boarding and de boarding for all passengers, thereby eliminating inconvenience and enhancing safety. In this financial year 2024-25 and 2025-2026, division has successfully raised platforms at 31 stations, rest 10 nos of stations' platform raising work is in pipe line.This extensive project was undertaken with a substantial investment of ₹ 37 Cr. The initiative is part of the division's continuous efforts to upgrade infrastructure and provide better facilities for the millions of commuters who use the Sealdah network daily.   বেবি চক্রবর্ত্তী:- এবার কোচবিহারে রাজনৈতিক উত্তেজনা চরমে পৌঁছল। মঙ্গলবার সকালে কোচবিহারে প্রবেশের মুখে ঘাগড়াগড় এলাকায় বিজেপি বিধায়ক ও বিরোধী দলনেতা শুভেন্দু অধিকারীর কনভয়ে চরম হেনস্থার ঘটনা ঘটে। অভিযোগ, তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের কর্মী-সমর্থকেরা কালো পতাকা হাতে শুভেন্দুর কনভয় ঘিরে বিক্ষোভ দেখাতে শুরু করেন। পুলিশ বাহিনী উপস্থিত থাকলেও পরিস্থিতি দ্রুত উত্তপ্ত হয়ে ওঠে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীদের মতে, শুভেন্দুর কনভয়ের একাধিক গাড়ি লক্ষ্য করে ইট ছোড়া হয়, এমনকি লাঠি দিয়ে গাড়িগুলি ভাঙচুর করা হয়। সবচেয়ে গুরুতর অভিযোগ, শুভেন্দুর গাড়ির পিছনের জানালার কাচ ইটের আঘাতে ভেঙে যায়। এই ঘটনার তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়েছেন বিজেপি। দলীয় সূত্রে দাবি করা হয়েছে, এটা তৃণমূলের পরিকল্পিত হামলা এবং এর পিছনে রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসাই মূল কারণ। তবে তৃণমূলের পক্ষ থেকে এখনো পর্যন্ত কোনও আনুষ্ঠানিক প্রতিক্রিয়া মেলেনি। অবশেষে রাজ্য রাজনীতিতে এই হামলা নতুন করে উত্তেজনার পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করেছে।

বেবি চক্রবর্ত্তী:-  চিকিৎসা পরিষেবায় গাফিলতি। চিকিৎসাধীন রুগির লাইন না থাকলেও এখানকার চিকিৎসকেরা সময়ের আগেই বেরিয়ে যান আবার রুগির লম্বা লাইন থাকলে সময় হয়ে গেল চিকিৎসকেরা পরিষেবা বন্ধ করে দেন। তখন এমার্জেন্সি একমাত্র ভরসা হয়ে ওঠে এখানকার সাধারণ স্থানীয়দের। কিন্তু   সেই এমার্জেন্সিতেও সবসময় থাকেনা সিনিয়ার চিকিৎসকেরা এমনটাই অভিযোগ ওঠে। অন্যদিকে এই হাসপাতালে পরিষেবা নিয়ে আছে বিভিন্ন চাঞ্চল্যকর তথ্য। যে চিকিৎসকদের স্থানীয়রা ভগবানের রূপে পূজা করে সেখানে কিছু চিকিৎসকদের রাজ সাধারণ গরিব পরিবারের ওপর কসাই এ পরিণত হয়েছে। আসুন একবার দেখাই এখানকার চিকিৎসা পরিষেবা.........! বেড়াল - কুকুর - কামড়ালে আঁচড়ালে আপনাকে ভেকসিন নিতে গেলে..! সকাল দশটা থেকে বেলা বারোটা পর্যন্ত। পরিষেবার বারোটা বাজিয়ে এখানকার চিকিৎসকদের রাজ চলে ... রাস্তা দিয়ে খুঁজে খুঁজে ধরে আনতে হবে বেড়াল - কুকুরে কামড়ানো ব্যাক্তি বা রুগি তবেই আপনি পাবেন এখানকার নার্স কিংবা চিকিৎসকদের কাজ থেকে ভ্যাকসিন...! অন্যথা আপনাকে প্রাইভেট দেখাতে হবে..! এখানকার চিকিৎসকেরাই বলে থাকেন...! এখন প্রশ্ন উঠেছে কেন হাসপাতালের চিকি...

Kolkata, 1st August, 2025, Sealdah is one of the busiest stations in India as it caters to 15 - 18 lakh commuters a day & it serves as the transportation lifeline for Kolkata and its suburbs. On an average 915 suburban locals ply everyday across the Division. On account of huge passenger rush during morning and evening peak hours, passengers face inconvenience in movement within station premises and concourse area at Sealdah station.  In an endeavour to streamline train operations, ensure crowd management and enhanced predictability for esteemed commuters, Sealdah Division has decided to nominate specific platforms for different trains pertaining to different suburban sections, viz., Sealdah South, Bongaon/Hasnabad, Krishnanagar/Gede, Dankuni Section etc. This initiative is also aimed at segregating passenger flow of different sections, preventing criss cross movement for better public convenience.
