Sealdah Division Realizes Over ₹1.37 Lakh During Intensive Two-Day Ticket Checking Drive.

In a proactive move to deter ticketless travel and streamline passenger movement, Sealdah Division conducted a series of special ticket checking drives on April 8 and April 9, 2026.
Over the course of the two-day operation, a dedicated team of checking staff successfully detected 608 cases involving unauthorized travel and luggage irregularities. These combined efforts resulted in a total revenue realization of ₹1,37,494.
The first phase of the operation on April 8 between Plassy - Lalgola section were identified 130 penalty cases and 159 luggage-related offenses, earning a total of ₹50,025. The momentum increased on April 9 during a high-intensity check at Bidhannagar Road Station were team penalized 282 cases of irregular travel and 37 luggage violations, collecting a total of ₹87,469 in a single day.
This rigorous enforcement is part of a dedicated effort to discourage the practice of ticketless travel and ensure that every passenger boards with a valid authority to travel. By conducting such regular checks, division aims to eradicate unauthorized journey and promote a culture of compliance among commuters. Sealdah Division continues to urge passengers to travel with valid tickets and proper luggage bookings to ensure a smooth and respectful journey for all.
