Araley Abdaleye News, 06.04.2024: Today, Amra Padatik has brought a musical treat for the residents of Sonagachi, the largest red light district in Asia. It was a milestone for Amra Padatik to bring together the legendry artist Usha Uthup and classical musician Pandit Debojyoti Bose for the release of the theme song of the upcoming Youth Festival of Amra Padatik which will start from 11th March 2024. The event took place at Sonagachi near Shitola Mandir. 

The inaugural program was started by ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a dance performance of Komal Gandhar titled ‘Our Rights, our Demands’. 

The veteran singer Usha Uthup is still making waves with her contribution to the music scene. In this special occasion she sung from her heart the famous ‘ Kolkata Kolkata, Don’t worry Kolkata’ and ‘Nakabandi Nakabandi’. 

Other members who graced the occasion were Subrata Ganguli, a pioneering and eminent artist of Kolkata; Mr. Mohan Gupta, 17 no. Ward Councilor; Ms. Sunanda Sarkar, 18 no. Ward Councilor, Dr. A. K. Singh, Friend’s of Amra Padatik, Mr. Bani Brata Karat, Social activist; Ms. Bharati Dey, Mentor of Durbar Mahila Samanwaya Committee; Shibani Giri, Secretary of Society for Human Development and Social Action; Ms. Satabdi Saha, Secretary of Amra Padatik. 

The event ended with stunning performances of music band performed by the children of sex workers. The event attracted more than 500 people, including sex workers, youths and children.
